Mama Kat's Thursday Writer's Workshop!

Today, I picked #3 from MamaKat's workshop prompts. To write a haiku about what I love about my regular day. So I wrote several. 3 lines didn't seem like enough to cover it. And it didn't seem like enough substance for my readers. So here you are. Some of my favorite parts of the day.

p.s. Dear babies- even though you don't read this, I have to say it: I know I'm cranky right now. I know that sometimes it seems like I tolerate you instead of enjoy you. But I wouldn't trade a single stressed out moment for a lifetime of money, ease, fame, or things. I love you. YOU are my favorite part of EVERY day. (OMG. My hormones are out of control. I'm going to bawl my eyes out writing this.)

breakfast table, cool.
giggles, berries, sugar, prayers.
"Mommy?" "Hmm?" "Love you!"

On the road, buckled.
"Want to hear a story mom?
It is about me."

Little fist on door.
"Mommy! I waked up!" cheeks hot
Grin, with nap time gone.

Still breath on pillows,
Footie jammies keep toes warm.
Finally, my time.

Great pictures and post as usual. I am so loving this stage with my daughter too and the cute and often funny things she says that make my day. My daughter has a new teacher at preschool and on Monday I asked her "do you like the new teacher?" "No" she replied. "Why not?" I asked. "Because she is very, very boring" was the reply I got.

Nap times are also now a rarity in our house - I wish I had known what a luxury they were when she had them.

Beautiful pictures and wonderful haiku. I agree, no matter how stressful it gets, I couldn't imagine NOT being a dad.

Bless you and yours.

I love your note to your little ones at the beginning.

Very nice. I miss this stage. Once they grow up and take flight on their own, this part of life falls by the wayside. Enjoy it now while you can.

(And then you'll get emails from them about posts like these likening them to those bearskin rug pictures you showed all the prospective boy/girl friends. {*grin*})

My kids make me absolutely nutty and I turn easily into a stress monkey, but I wouldn't change it. Ever. Loved this post.

I love this post. Beautiful pictures, great haikus! Yes, I agree with you and the other comments: Sometimes my kids drive me crazy, but I wouldn't trade my life with them for anything!
