My MANIC Friday!!!

I call this my MANIC Friday because I am involved in SOOOO many MEMES!!! There are many others I'd love to do, but I think 3 is my limit for one day. And these are my favorites for now. Expect a long post, but hopefully, some entertaining, uplifting, and relate able things will have you nodding your head in understanding!!!

FEEL GOOD FRIDAY!!!

(Please visit http://www.thegirlnextdoorgrowsup.com/ for more Feel Good Friday posts, and to enter YOURS!!)

5 Things that are making me FEEL GOOD today!

1.It SMELLS like SPRING! I know it's not here yet, but it's around the corner, and I just can't contain my excitement!

2. Yesterday, we went to Gardener Historic Village (An ADORABLE 'town' full of houses that are now shops, and it's very quaint, country, and chic) and ordered Lilly a new bed. It's very French Cottage Chic, and as soon as we receive it (In about 6-8 weeks, just in time for her birthday) I will take pictures!

3. My mom. My mom is the most supportive person in my life, aside from my husband. Basically, my mom just rocks, and that is ALL there is to it.

4. Spoons for Scarlet has been doing wonderfully! I have sold many spoons and we are well on our way to helping out all the sweet babies of Primary Children's Medical Center! Please, PLEASE visit our site, read Scarlet's story, and help us help the children.

5. This blog was done on Thursday night! That means i have ALL day to spend with my beautiful children, and maybe get them to laugh for awhile. (Not like it's hard. They all have great (very strange, but great) senses of humor!)

Letters of Intent

(Click the button above for more hilarious Letters Of Intent)

Dear Mail wo/man/UPS/Fed Ex guys

Whenever I see you, my heart becomes all a flutter. A package! How spectacular! Who doesn't LOVE a package!?

Yes, I usually ordered the thing myself, and it's usually for someone else, and then I went and forgot about it because I have three children and a blog that keep me so occupied, entertained and overwhelmed that I just don't think about much after it's been done, but what the heck. It's like Christmas.

Did you catch that part that said I have three children?

The thing about this is, you come to my door at around 2:30. And you ring the doorbell (despite the small taped note that asks 'please knock' and inevitably WAKE MY BABY!

Yes, I get a lot of junk mail. Yes, my mail box is small. It's not my fault. I didn't put it there, it came with the house. And yes, sometimes there is a car parked in front of it, but you can stop including a letter with my mail that says that there will be 'repercussions' if my vehicle isn't moved and situation rectified, because it isn't mine. MY car is the green mini-van with the butterfly decal in the corner. You don't see it? That's because it's parked in the GARAGE. The beat up old truck, car, or any number of otherwise clunky vehicles that may be in front of my mailbox today belongs to my next door neighbors (who have their own letter of intent coming, believe me!)

Lets think about this for a second, shall we? If you are going around a neighborhood to deliver things, two things will happen.

1. No one will be home because everyone is either at school or work.

2. Someone will be home, and they will open the door and take your trash.

If option #1 happens, you are going to be forced to shove all that extra mail into the tiny mailbox, even if you have to get OUT of your little car to do it because there is a car in the way (which would have been easier in the first place, wouldn't you think? Since you made your way up to my doorstep, which is quite a bit farther than my front curb.) OR you're going to have to leave the package on the doorstep.

If option #2 happens, it is likely one of two types of people.

A. The SAHM who is happily enjoying her day while her children are away at school.

or

B. The SAHM who WAS happily enjoying the very short time of day that her child/ren were napping because they are still young enough NOT to be at school, and because of YOU, her serenity is jarred, and they are now awake, and crying because they didn't get a full nap and are now cranky.

If A happens, all is well.

If B happens, well, all is well for YOU. But I am severely irritated.

I know. I don't have any answers or other options. You're doing your job. But do you HAVE to ring the doorbell? Would it KILL you to just knock (and I don't mean POUND) on the door, and if there is a quiet answer, as in, I whisper 'thank you', keep your voice down when you ask me to sign for something? If there is NO answer, don't knock again, just assume that I'm one of those option #1's.

Okay? Okay.

Signed

Severely Irritated.

For this weeks Feed Me Books Friday, I chose

I LOVE this book. My kids do too. It's about a little goat who is a 'picky' eater because he wants fruits and veggies and breads and fish instead of pants and shirts and tires and tin cans to eat.

When Gregory won't eat these things, his worried parents take him to see Dr. Ram, who tells them to teach him to eat everything a little at a time.

In the meantime, he learns to like it all.

My children LOVE this book, and they're not particularly picky eaters, but my son has a hard time eating some of his greens. (Broccoli and zucchini! Two of MY faves!) It's funny, because they watch him eat these things, thinking they're disgusting- you know, a shoe lace, a rubber shoe sole, and later tires, a barber pole and a half of a CAR!

They get it though. Try it. You might like it. It's not so bad.

Adorable pictures, great message, very entertaining.

Just returned that book to the library yesterday. It was cute! I keep getting books with "Gregory" in the title, since that's my husbands name. The kids loved it!

That is such a cute book! I love your letter of intent. I soo relate to that. We have 2 signs and one directly taped over the doorbell and they still ring it and then before I even get a chance to open the door pound on the front door which can probably be heard in China. It is ridiculous.

Wow! I feel so honored that you chose "Feed Me Books" as one of your top 3. You're right. Friday gets busy.

LOVE the letter to the mail man. I've been robbed of many a quiet afternoon b/c of those delivery men. Thanks for the laugh.

Love the spin of a goat wanting to eat healthy!

Oh my gosh- the mailman thing would seriously ruin my day. Can they not read? Do they not understand the sanity saving ritual that we SAHM's call a nap? Why can't they just leave a note on the vehicle that is parked in front of your mailbox and go on their way? *sigh* I feel for you, I really do!

Thanks for linking up, I love your letter and look forward to the one about your neighbor!

That Gregory goat is a stinker!

I love your letter. I wrote one not too long ago about our mail carrier here at work. Drives me completely crazy! Ah, Gregory - when I taught Pre-K that was one of my kids favorite books. Cute blog. Stopping by from Four Sons.

I had completely forgotten about that book until I read your post! I remember reading it as a kid! Thanks for reminding me. I'm going to look for it at the library.

That was a fun read! And I laughed at your letter. I started having to do that too!
Once, just before baby #4 was born, a miracle happened and I managed to get the two boys down for a nap, which was huge.
Than someone rang my doorbell. I was ready to kill whoever it was. I marched over to the door and flung it open.
There stood the missionaries.
Ah dang! I can't be mad at them! I'd be the one to get in trouble for that! ;)

hahahahaha! You made my day. I needed a good laugh. YES, I think the same when the stupid UPS man comes and rings the doorbell. WHY?! OH WHY do they always come when kids are sleeping? They always wake up my kiddos and then my blissful break enjoying kids away gets ruined.

Has a UPS driver ever come at ten in the morning? Are their hours from 1:00-3:30? I don't get it.

Thanks for the smile!

BTW--I think I know which gardener village your talking about--and if it's the one near me--you and I could be near-distant neighbors!

Do they do Witches Night Out in October? (I've been there, in case you know what I'm talking about. If not, forget what I'm saying.)

I LOVE their shops! Especially the vintage girly ones!

Stopping by from Foursons. The doorbell at our house doesn't work and I never bothered to fix it when we moved in. I avoid that issue altogether. When no one answers the supposed "door bell ring", they just leave the package without knocking. ;-)

I had totally forgotten about that book. I think we heard it in school when I was in first grade. It's a hoot!

HAHA! My sister lives in Tooele! My family actually lives in the Provo area. How funny that we are so close! WAHoo! I don't remember the name of this one store, it's by a bridge, but they had vintage mini-chandeliers, shabby lace, white distressed dressers...sigh. Cute.

If you want a really, really cute hair bow, go to my best friend's site.

It's:http://bellatinasboutique.blogspot.com/

Those are the bows I can't get enough of!

We only receive deliveries during nap time at my house too...what is UP with that?!?!?

Camryn said...

Darn! That was my favorite store! Dang this economy! Our style for our little girl's room is freakishly uncanny! Seriously, we have a lot in common. That is exactly how I have done my girl's rooms. In fact, I didn't want to pay the $120 per chandelier--and I want several for each room--(frugal and a cheapo)I know just the sites of where to find them cute and cheap. Go to Toys R Us's website and type in: "mini chandelier".
(babie's R us has them too!)

And,try this site. www.csnbaby.com type in "mini chandelier" and an assortment will appear. This is where I got mine!

Oy... people knew better than to disturb my household when my little one was an infant.

In fact, if they forgot, they would receive a strongly-worded reminder that we had a preemie at home and he needed his sleep.

I feel for ya... messed up naps are... messed up!
