In honor of my tax return-
Nothing Gold Can Stay by Robert Frost
Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
I first read this in S.E. Hinton's "The Outsiders" and loved it!
ReplyDeleteI have this memorized...from the movie and the book, The Outsiders. Hahaha. But it's so true. We get our money and poof just like that it is gone. :(
