Music Mondays

Today, I'm featuring The Ataris.  I love them. They were my first exposure to REAL punk rock. I ALMOST accepted an invitation to meet up with them after a concert when they said they always wanted to make out with "Mormon Girls"  and my friend and I were right in front of them. (I didn't though...long, saaaad story.) And I still think they're "the bees knees", as the saying goes. 

And, admittedly, I'm a little miffed and insulted by the radio. The only song that they ever play by Ataris is that stupid Boys of Summer song. It wasn't a great song to begin with, it's not the best cover in the world either, and the Ataris have SO much more to offer. More than once, I have mentioned them to friends who have shot back "Oh! They sing Boys of Summer right? It's a good song." with the mention of "One Hit Wonders" hanging heavily in the air. NO! THIS IS SO WRONG!!!! Part of it is wrong because HALF of them don't know it's a COVER, thinking it's an Ataris ORIGINAL, and the other part is wrong because they are WONDERFUL, and so few know it.
